2 out of 5 stars they work, but arent for me   July 23, 2010

They're very uncomfortable. They might work for some people, but I'd find some other ways to work your abs.

2 out of 5 stars Chintzy, leaves marks on my arms   May 4, 2010

I was having problems with my Iron Gym pull up bar leaving lots of blisters on my hands during pull ups. I thought these would help since it would transfer some of the weight to my triceps and less on my hands. First, they are not adjustable whatsoever. I would not expect my forearms for an average sized woman to be the same as for a full grown man, so not being able to adjust them, makes it difficult. These have no cushion to them at all either. Even after I used some soft foam to pad them, they still left marks and bruises on the backs of my arms which I suspect is also partly due to mis-sizing. I'm waiting on some lifting hooks that I hope will work better. These seem like a good idea, but miss the mark.

4 out of 5 stars great, but note the added costs for ab straps   March 22, 2010

you have to buy the straps seperately. They will "give" you a set for shipping and handling that costs about $8.00...same price it would cost to buy them from amazon seperately? Amazon will ship right away, takes 8 weeks to get your "free" set. The bar itself is a dandy. Feels sturdy, and safe up to about 220 pounds or so.

5 out of 5 stars works great   March 11, 2010

Ive used these for the past year at least 3 days a week. the stitching is still fine. Some people whine about there arms, but ive never worn a t-shirt while using these and im fine. as far as the workout goes, its the best ab work anyone can do. it eliminates lower back pain you would get from doing ab exercises on the floor.

3 out of 5 stars Ab Straps OK   March 4, 2010

I received the ab straps and I've used them for a few weeks now. They basically do what you would expect - slide them over the handles on the Iron Gym and you can then use them to suspend yourself in the air for various ab exercises.

I like using them better than just dangling from the Iron Gym and trying to do ab exercises. However, not much better. I'm 5'6", so it's a bit tricky for me to get my arms in these things while the Iron Gym is on a standard door frame as they hang higher than my arms are at. Additionally, I have found that they kind of dig into my arms. It's nothing serious, but it's not comfortable, either.

I would recommend them as something that you can use to change up your workout, but I find I can do more good ab exercises with a Weider Stability Ball (between $10 - $20, dependent on size). I see this as something to change the monotony, not as something you'd want to use 3 or more times a week.
