Amazon.com Product Description Enjoy an efficient full-body workout without heading to the gym with the Sole E95 elliptical trainer. Boasting a heavy 30-pound flywheel, a high gear ratio not found on most comparable models, and a pair of upper body handles, the E95 delivers an extremely smooth workout with plenty of top-end resistance. Users will also appreciate the unique oversize and adjustable foot pedals, which were designed in collaboration with a leading physical therapist and sports enthusiast. The pedals are not only extra large, but also feature a 2-degree inward slope that reduces the ankle and knee stress that's common in other elliptical machines. The collaboration also produced a revolutionary foot pedal angle adjustment not found on any other elliptical. Taking into account that not everyone walks the same way, Sole engineers made the E95's pedals adjustable to fit the way you walk. This also reduces the likelihood of numb toes and sore Achilles tendons. Workout specifics include 20 resistance levels, 10 total programs (including two custom and two heart-rate programs), and a 20-inch stride length. Perhaps the handiest feature from a user perspective, however, is the easy-to-use electronic console, which integrates a red/green display, a cooling fan, and a water bottle holder. Additional features include stationary handlebars with built-in pulse sensors for monitoring your heart rate; a heart rate chest strap for hands-free pulse monitoring; heavy-duty rails with smooth-riding wheels on the back; and a rear plastic shroud that adds additional stability for aggressive use. The E95, which offers a maximum weight capacity of 400 pounds, carries the following warranties: lifetime on the frame, five years on all parts and electronics, and two years on the labor. The company's treadmill line is simple in design, with an emphasis on quality and warranty all at a great price. Sole's easy-to-use treadmills offer a great value and feature a convenient, space-saving portable design. The treadmills have a very stable base with four wheels for ease of movement, folding decks to conserve space, and a 30-year motor and lifetime deck and frame warranty. Sole is always looking for ways to make their equipment better, more efficient, with higher quality at a great price. About Elliptical Trainers Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips. Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home. Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

Make sure you try before you buy! July 23, 2010 MustFindElliptical 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
When I buy things, I am incredibly meticulous about ensuring I by the correct product and get the absolutely best value for my money. We went to Dick's to check out the Sole E25, E35 and E95.
E25 - wobbly!
E35 - console was close to useless
E95 - console fix, very solid.
All of them:
1) These are front wheel ellipticals and let me be clear that you are either a front wheel elliptical or a rear wheel elliptical person. We are clearly rear wheel folks.
2) I am 5' 10" and so is my wife, she is all legs and I am all body. Both of us felt like we were leaning uncomfortably forward while striding in all inclines. I don't think I nor she could tolerate it. It really bothered her and made her hunch which is a posture that is not good for a workout.
3) The incline feature borders on comedy. It angles a rear "rail" that the wheels ride back and forth on up 30 degrees. This results in a change that I could not even perceived and I thought the machine was broken and the incline not moving. I stopped pedaling and watched the rails move and then did my best to "feel" the difference - not really. I mean scientifically, it moves the rails and has some impact but it is not very perceivable.
The general review sites rave on this machine and lots seem to like it quite a bit. It's funny based on these reviews we were just about to order one online and boy am I glad we didn't!
My suggestion is that you should try one of these before you buy. If you cannot tolerate the posture of leaning forward that this machine creates, it will never get better and only become more irritating.
We ended up getting the Freemotion s5.6 which carries a Lifetime Frame, 7 years parts and 1 year labor. If you haven't tried one, I recommend that you do.
Good Luck!
Smooth machine..great workout July 22, 2010 J. Nichols (Ballston Spa,New York USA) The Sole E95 took me about 4 hours to put together and I would say the hardest part was running the wires through the down tube. I used a coat hanger and taped the wires to it to feed them through. Also the moving handles each have a wire for incline and level and all wires must be connected before you attach the console.
This is a great machine, well built and if used 5 days per week for approximately 45 minutes a day will give you excellent results.
I also want to add my experience with the Amazon Store card for financing this machine was a nightmare. I have excellent credit and don't owe a lot of money on my credit cards but Amazon Store card would only allow me $500 credit line. I could not get them to increase my credit line as they stated "not a customer long enough" so I bought my Sole E95 direct from Sole and applied on line for a 1 year no interest card from Capital One...no problem. I love Amazon but their store card carrier GEMB is terrible to try to do business with and nobody speaks good English,
so Amazon lost my business buying this elliptical.
Sole E 95 Eliptical Trainer June 24, 2010 William T. Pool (Anderson, SC) PROS:
1. Strong - well designed
2. Packed for relatively easy assembly. Clear assembly instructions.
3. Quiet, smooth operation
4. Controls are easy to use
5. Adjustments are easy to use
(Note: we tried out a large number of elliptical trainers over several weeks and we thought this unit was a "good value": superior in terms of comfortable, smooth operation, and sturdy design.)
ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT:
1. Ergonomics of handles could be improved.
2. The small fan is a good idea, however (for me) it seems weak, especially if you are exercising hard.
3. Unit requires a very large "footprint". For me, smaller length and width (if done without sacrificing stability or smoothness of operation) would have allowed us to put the unit in a more optimal location.
PRICE: Including tax and delivery, Amazon's price was lower than local dealers.
DELIVERY: Delivered ahead of promised date. Excellent experience with delivery service.
Smooth Ride June 16, 2010 Daniel (Hollywood, FL USA) I migrated from using a $100 Walmart elliptical at home to one at the gym, and now I'm using Sole E95 at home.
Sole E95 is a professional grade elliptical, as good or better than the ones at the gym. It runs very smooth, you can barely hear it even at my weight, 200+ lbs.
Absolutely no buyer's remorse here! May 11, 2010 Joshua Martsch (Joshua Tree, CA USA) Actually a lot easier to set up than I anticipated. Quieter than I anticipated...and even smoother than anticipated. I still don't think the distance feature is accurate, but if that's my only complaint, than I'm very happy...and my wife is even more fond of it than I am!
I actually run quite a bit and have used many elliptical machines in gyms in my time. I was very hesitant to buy this or any commercially available machine, but am VERY happy I did. My wife's cardio exercise used to be limited to running from child mess #x to child mess #y, to #z and so forth...she now uses this every day and is absolutely in love with it.
So, if you're a beginner, I think you'll really love it...if you're more experienced, know that this isn't what you'll find in the gym, but for a machine that sits in the house, I don't think there could be anything better for the price.
Very sturdy, love the molded hand grips (I don't like the padded foot pads, but knew I wouldn't when purchased...this was more for my wife...and I'll get used to them shortly). As far as features, I haven't really used any just yet...just tension...but great so far!
