The EL-355 runs very smoothly and quietly. The resistance works very well - and 8 out of 16 is a good amount of resistance to work me at this time. It feels very sturdy when I work out on it - and I didn't have much trouble using the electronic console. I also like the oversized pedals - it feels very comfortable on my feet. I had done research on elliptical machines for several weeks and after trying out the EL-355 and feeling how smooth it was, I decided to purchase it. So far, I'm very pleased with the purchase.
What I can't help with in this review is the assembly - I had that done by the place I bought it from - and I'm happy I had that done. Also, this is not a small machine - don't expect to move it around very much - probably belongs in a basement or a sturdy loft.
