 Very poor stap design-Not made to last long (This is my resolution) July 27, 2010

I use the Polar strap daily so I decided that to extend the life to the strap, I would NOT unhook it, but losen it instead and take it off over my head which will reduce the wear and tear that the repetitious hook and unhook would cause.
The other thing I do is hand wash. To my surprise the replacement strap out live the one that came with the watch. To do this you may need to purchase a larger strap so you can take it over your head easily, and just adjust it to your size when in use.
I have always tried to find a way to save some money because I cannot afford to spend any extra due to college tuition fees for both my daughter and I. Meanwhile, I would like to maintain my health and monitor my progress with a good monitor so I purchased the Polar ft40 then after few years I upgraded to ft60. Hope this works for you as it did for me.

i had a very old wearlink strap that had two plastic snaps at the end and had lost its elasticity. the snaps on this product work differently but was a perfect replacement.

I am using Polar HRM for more than 10 years. The new belt is by far much more convenient, however even if you will be very careful with it - never wash it in the washing machine, wash it in cold water by hand and keep it straight all the time it will wear-out within less than 2 years. According to Polar it should hold about a year on daily use. I would expect more for such a price.
